Welcome to GRIDNYC.NET! My name is Stephen Chang, Founder and Design Director of GRIDNYC.

Since mid 2010, we started utilizing WordPress as a CMS (content management system) for our website projects; we gradually came to the realization that WP can be the perfect tool to “incrementally” construct a hybrid site/blog to supplement our six-year-old company site.

This realization is the inception of GRIDNYC.NET.

This site will communicate timely info, and showcase multi-category projects. The existing site gridnyc.com contains mostly long term info such as our design methodology, process, specialty descriptions… etc. So take a look of our .com site but come back here often!

By the way, our gridnyc.com site recently (Jan. 2011) reached Google PageRank 5 rating, we are happy to share the news!

We have selected the WP platform not only for its content management capability and blog function, but also for its open source nature and the huge install base. Thousands of developers are writing add-ons for almost everything you can imagine, it’s the great way to keep one’s site functionally current.

Some examples: this site uses the “Quick Cache” plugin to improve file downloading speed, enabling us to display larger and sharper images with a faster loading time. The “All in One SEO Pack” plugin takes out much of the hassle to make the site search engine friendly.
